How to Choose the Right Size for Tablecloths

Choosing the right tablecloth is something that many people worry about, due to the length of the fall or the aspect that is caused in general. The important thing is that it is quite simple, with a few actions you can know the perfect size of your piece.

Why should we consider the tablecloth size?

Imagine not knowing your size and buying a shirt of the wrong size … it would be a very annoying situation. The same happens with tablecloths, these are not manufactured with a standard size, but they have different variations to fit the table size. For this reason, there are some basic measurement rules that will make you take the best decision.

Is the occasion so important?

For sure. The appropriate drop depends on the occasion and the type of atmosphere you want to create.  For a more formal look, create a luxurious feel with a 20″ – 30″ drop.  For most settings an 8″-10″ drop is fine.  For the most casual setting, a 6″ drop may also work.

  1. Square tables.
  2. Round tables.
  3. Rectangular tables.

  1. Square tables.

Keep in mind that this is the easiest to measure, as the length and width are the same number you just measure only one of them. Once you did your measurement, think about the size of the drop you would like (remember it depends on the occasion). For example: if you have a table that is 100cm wide, and you would like to add a 20cm drop on each side, you will need a tablecloth with 140cm of width and 140cm of length.

Simple, right?

  2. Rectangular tables.

This is not as simple as the previous rule, but you will be able to do it without problems. Measure the width and the length of the table. Once you did your measurement, think about the size of the drop you would like (consider if it’s a casual or formal look). For example: if you have a table that is 60cm wide and 120cm long, and you would like to add a 15cm drop on each side, you will need a tablecloth with 150cm of length and 90cm of width.

  3. Round tables.

Easier again! You must measure the diameter of the table and think about the length of the drop you would like. For example: if you have a table with a diameter of 100cm and you would like to add a 30cm drop all around, you will need a tablecloth with a diameter of 160cm.

You see? It´s something simple. Now can you can choose the perfect tablecloth and give your guests another reason to stay. Create the best table presentations and guarantee unforgettable times.
